Overview

The Southern Baptist Convention made headlines two years ago when it voted at its national convention that wives should "submit graciously to their husbands' servant leadership." That vote drew the spotlight on a hot debate in Christian circles: the roles of men and women in marriage. What is God's intent for the mystical relationship of marriage? CT's associate editor Agnieszka Tennant writes that two evangelical organizations are leading and shaping the debate, drawing divergent conclusions from the same Scripture passages. In this study, we'll look at some of those biblical texts.
