Overview

Each year thousands of Emperor Penguins who eat and swim off the coast of Antarctica walk up to 70 miles inland to breed off the ice and lay their eggs on firm ground. There they must stay through the dark, harsh winter, going months without food, huddled together for warmth, to achieve one goal: the safe hatching of their chicks. Their survival means the survival of their species.
