Overview
As Christians we are committed to loving those who are in our lives. But what about liking them? This series moves us beyond a white-knuckled commitment to hang in there with our loved ones, to discovering how to really like them.
Session One
Like Your Mate
When we change our behavior, our mate’s may change too.
Matthew 7:1–5, 18:21–35; Galatians 5:22–23; Ephesians 5:21–33; Philippians 4:8; 1 Peter 4:8
This study will help you answer the question, How can God help me build positive feelings for someone—to like someone I love?
Session Two
Like Your Kids
If we find the balance between discipline and freedom, our children will be more pleasant to be around.
Luke 2:41–52; Ephesians 6:1–4; Hebrews 12:5–11
This session will help parents, stepparents, and parents-to-be learn to get past the things that generate dislike with their kids, and to move toward a relationship where kids know they are liked as well as loved.
Session Three
Like Your Family
If we trust God’s purposes, we can find his work in the most unlikely people.
Genesis 29:1–28, 45:1–15
This study will discuss how we can learn to like people who give us plenty of reasons to dislike them.
Session Four
Like Yourself
Liking myself happens when I reject my self-evaluation and embrace how God sees me.
Genesis 1:27; Psalm 139; Romans 5:8; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 2:10; Philippians 1:6
