Most of us can recall times when we felt empty, ashamed, or selfish. Is there anything we can do to get rid of those feelings? How does God feel about us when we feel this way? How can we help others going through this rough time?

Perfect for groups of students or adults, this four-session course emphasizes principles for dealing with life's doldrums. This Bible study is specially designed for interactive and hands-on learners. Learn Scripture and grow together while discussing repentance, obedience, perseverance, and gratefulness.

Session One

Getting Right (Repentance)
Feeling good about life begins with repentance.
Jeremiah 14:19–22

Needed for this lesson: A small prize, such as a candy bar, comic book, stickers, or pen.

Session Two

Living Right (Obedience)
If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the land (Isa. 1:19).
Isaiah 1:10–25

Needed for this lesson: Raw potatoes, uncooked pasta, and/or dried-out bread and homemade or bakery cookies. Two cloths—one attractive and one unattractive. Contact two people ahead of time and ask them to be willing to role play for this lesson.

Session Three

Staying Right (Perseverance)
Stay in the battle regardless of how tempted you may be to quit.
2 Thessalonians 2:13–17

Needed for this lesson: Several building-block sets.

Session Four

Thinking Right (Gratefulness)
Gratitude is the key to a rewarding life.
Isaiah 12:1–6

Needed for this lesson: Blank paper and pens for everyone, a large variety of newspapers and/or news magazines.
