Overview
One of the issues that the pledge controversy raises is the question of freedom: In the United States we are granted certain freedoms, such as the freedom of religion, the freedom to assemble, etc. In this Bible study we will look at the nature of freedom as we try to answer what true freedom is. What did Jesus mean when he said the truth would set us free? Indirectly, this study will also have a bearing on what it means to “take the pledge.”
