Overview

Translators of Today’s New International Version of the Bible (TNIV) probably didn’t expect that the release of TNIV would be followed by such a firestorm. Producers say their new translation makes Scripture gender accurate, clear, and understandable for contemporary listeners. Critics say its approach goes too far, distorting Scripture. In this study, we’ll look at the issues raised by both sides and at some of principles behind the translation controversy.
