Overview

Sidney Lumet’s masterful directing is full of spirit, contention, brilliant performances, and a uniquely American approach to justice. A jury of 12 men argues the issue of the guilt of a young man purported to have killed his father with a knife. One lone juror (Henry Fonda) stands against the tide of guilty verdicts and ultimately persuades the rest of the men to a different point of view.

This study guide highlights the film’s spiritually significant themes; 12 Angry Men celebrates the strength that can be found in integrity and honest inquiry and reminds us to look for the truth no matter what the anger and opposition of others may dictate.
